Note on the pattern:

This crochet shawl is built around simple yet expressive stitches. Carefully repeated, they form a delicate pattern inspired by Breton lace headdresses, evoking the finesse and geometry of traditional ornaments. The motif gradually unfolds, giving the shawl its harmonious and airy shape.

It is worked like a pixel grid, in what is known as “filet crochet”. Filet crochet is made up of filled (solid) squares of double crochet stitches and open (empty) squares made up of several chain spaces, gradually forming a pattern. With each row, the grid grows by one “pixel” tall and one “pixel” wide. The graphic design emerges row by row, revealing itself slowly. Work is increased by 3 sts each row.

Note on the pattern:

This cropped cardigan draws on the wildflower “super blooms” that appear in California after a rainy season. When dormant desert seeds get the moisture they need, they burst into colour all at once. This design features small flower motifs throughout to create a cheerful piece that’s fun to crochet and fun to wear.

The body of this crochet cardigan is worked in one piece while the sleeves are crocheted separately. The body and sleeves are worked in opposing colors and both are worked from the bottom up, beginning with ribbing. The design is finished with a flat button band.Be careful not to skip working into the st immediately after the posy, the stitch used to make the left side of the Posy. Each Posy does not alter the stitch count of the row as they are worked around existing stitches one row below the current row.
