Description

New production of Antigone is here!

100 % ecological linen, grown in Normandie (France) without chemical inputs

260 m (284 y.) / 100g env.

GAUGE ( 10 x 10 cm, 4 x 4" in stockinette) :

22 sts x 30 rows, 3 mm needles

Composed of ten strands of well-twisted combed linen, Antigone has a smooth, silky and deliciously fresh feel. This yarn can be knitted with fine needles for a regular result or in a loose fit to take advantage of its natural drape, which allows it to be adapted to a large number of pattern. It will be perfect for knitting mid-season jumpers and little tops for the warm weather, a lace cardigan to go with a pretty dress or even crocheting a shopping bag!

This yarn is made from flax grown in Normandy by the Terre de lin cooperative as part of a project to return to ancient cultivation practices aimed at preserving the soil and producing high quality fibres without chemical inputs. These long fibres are wet-spun in Lithuania with great care to create a regular, soft and naturally shiny yarn. The yarn is then twisted and dyed in France in the Creuse region.

Antigone has been named after "the one who says no" to the plays of Jean Anouilh.  It is advisable to wash your knitting machine, delicate cycle, and dry it flat to avoid it deforms.
