Fenn Cardigan
€9.60
design : Trin Annelie
Description
"The Fenn cardigan is the sibling pattern to the Fenn sweater. It is designed with the beautiful De Rerum Natura yarns in mind, either knit in Gillatt as shown in the sample, or with Ulysse (sport weight) and Bérenice (lace/silk mohair) held together for a little more fluffy version. The hood and the decorative buttonband give this piece its special charm."

CONSTRUCTION
The cardigan is worked top down in the round as a seamless raglan construction. Steek stitches are incorporated at the center front, and then cut later for the opening. Short rows set right at the top of the yoke provide some neckline shaping. After the colorwork pattern is established, the yoke, body and sleeves are worked top down in the round. The colorwork itself is only two colors at a time.
Then stitches for the hood are picked up and worked bottom up with some light shaping to its final length, before it is closed at the top using the kitchener stitch. Then the steek stitches are secured and cut open.
Finally stitches are picked up along the edge for the buttonband, which is worked as a combination of sandwich, to cover the steek edges, ribbing and a neat garter garter border.
The yoke is fully charted for each size and a general chart with thorough instructions is provided for the colorwork at the body and sleeves.
