GAUGE
17 sts x 32 rows = 4” 10cm in garter stitch with US #8 5mm needles
YARN AND MATERIALS
• 25 (30, 35, 40) g of De Rerum Natura “ Gilliatt ” (274yds 250m / 100g, pure French merino), or 71 (82, 98, 110) yards 65 (75, 90, 100) m of any aran or worsted equivalent yarn,
• 1 button approximately 0.4” to 0.8” 1cm to 2cm in diameter,
• A set of US #8 5mm straight needles or a US #8 5mm circular needle (or size required to obtain the indicated gauge),
• One more needle (same size) for the bind off,
• Stitch marker and tapestry needle.
CONSTRUCTION
The bonnet is knitted back and forth, with a seamless construction, starting at the neck and ending on the forehead.
