To knit the Shift Collar (pictures 2 and 3), you'll need: 

SIZE

One size

Total length from shoulder to bottom: 29 cm / 11.5 inches.

Width at shoulders: 33 cm / 13 inches.

YARN

4 balls of De Rerum Natura Pénélope (90 % organic Merinos d'Arles (France) / 10 % mulberry silk (China) - 145 yds (133 m) / 50 g) shown in the colourway "prune" or approx. 450 m / 490 yards of DK-weight yarn.

NEEDLES

3.0 mm / US 2.5 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches for the ribbing.

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches for the main part.

GAUGE

22 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches of the Back Chart on the larger needles, after blocking.

NOTIONS

Stitch markers, cable needle (if using), tapestry needle, blocking tools.

Note on the pattern: 

The Shift collar is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning at the back of the neck before stitches are picked up for the shoulders and continued into the front. The back is kept straight and structured, while the front narrows gently toward the ribbed edge, allowing the collar to sit cleanly and comfortably around the neck.
