Description

CONSTRUCTION

The Nia sweater is knitted by starting at the back from the top down to the base of the armholes. Then, both fronts are picked up and knitted separately, working from the top down to the edge of front neck. After joining both pieces, the front is worked to the base of the armhole, and then the front and back are joined and knitted in the round down to the hem. Pick up and knit for the sleeves.

Sleeve length from underarm: 45cm / 17.75” for all sizes.


Recommended ease : 0~40 cm / 0~15.75”.


YARN AND YARDAGE

White sample: De Rerum Natura Gilliatt (100% mérinos d'Arles and black merino from Portugal ; 250 m (202 yd)/100g): 5 (6, 7, 8) balls

Yellow version: De Rerum Natura Robinson (70% Organic merino d'Arles (France) and 30% recycled cotton, 270 yards (250 m) / 100g): 5 (6, 7, 8) balls

OR Approx. 1250 (1500, 1750, 2000) m / 1367 (1640, 1913, 2187) yds

The sample in Gilliatt "sel" (pictures 3 & 4) is a size 1 with 39 cm/15.5” positive ease and the sample in Robinson "citronnade" (pictures 1 & 2) is a size 1 with 30 cm/11.8” positive ease.


GAUGE

20 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking.

19 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in pattern stitch after blocking.


NEEDLES

4.5 mm (US 7) for the body. Use circular needles ranging from 60~120 cm according to the requirements of each section.

4 mm (US 6) for the neckband, hem and cuffs. DPNs or preferred needles (Magic Loop) for small circumference knitting.

Adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge.
