Leizh sweater

€5.83

"Leizh" is a cosy, spectacular jumper that's particularly rewarding to knit :)

Description

It is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom, with an openwork and textured pattern worked into the rounded yoke right up to the separation of the body and sleeves. The length of the lower body is adaptable for a fun cropped version or a more classic standard length, and the sleeves are fitted.

"Leizh" is a Breton word that means both "in abundance" and describes the moisture-laden air before the rain. I chose it because of the little diamonds on the yoke, which evokes to me the treasures visible to the attentive eye.<

CONSTRUCTION

This sweater is knitted seamlessly from the neckline.

A 1x1 ribbed collar is first worked, followed by a series of German short rows to lower the neckline in the front. The yoke increases are included in the motif.

The sleeve stitches are put on hold to knit the lower body in Stockinette st, then picked up again to work the sleeves.

SKILL LEVEL:
2/5

It has a medium level of difficulty and will be easily accessible if you have already knitted patterns in the round, made lace stitches from diagrams and experienced short rows.

TECHNIQUES USED:

Knitting back and forth and in the round on circular needles, knitting in the round on small circumferences, German short rows, increases, decreases, lace, reading diagrams.
